The LWR AN-M59 SAP 1000 LB replica is molded from the GP500 case. The actual SAP 1000 is 15” in diameter where as my SAP 1000 replica is 14” in diameter. This replica is the only replica that has not been molded from an original. It does however have all the detail as an original. OD green with TNT yellow stripes, black stenciling, steel fins, steel suspension lugs, nose cone and tail fuse with arming wire. This piece is great for any display and will also be a great addition to any WWII collection.
The LWR SAP 1000 weighs around 60 pounds, and with the standard 14” spread, can mount to a bomb shackle. The SAP 1000 was dropped from NAVY SB2C Helldivers and TBM Avengers, and was also used for “sub pen busting”. Also available for the SAP 1000 is the trunnion band, which was utilized on the SB2C Helldiver to displace the ordnance away from the aircraft.
